RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A LABRADOR RETRIEVER FROM
SHAWN NAKOA, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE HUMANE SOCIETY - HAWAII ISLAND
WHEREAS, Shawn Nakoa, Executive Director of the Humane Society -
Hawaii Island, P. O. Box 2695, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, has donated a
2-year old brown Labrador Retriever; and
WHEREAS, the Labrador Retriever will be assigned to the Kona
Vice Section, to be used as a narcotic canine; and
WHEREAS, the value of the donated Labrador Retriever is One
Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150); and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County
Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may
accept gifts or donations of personal property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii
County Charter, the Hawaii County Police Department is authorized to
accept the donation of a 2-year old brown Labrador Retriever from
Shawn Nakoa, Executive Director of the Humane Society - Hawaii
Island.
