RESOLUTION N0. X37 34
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII, PURSUANT TO HRS §46-B, FOR A
JUVENILE JUSTICE AND DELINQUENCY PREVENTION ACT GRANT.
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii through the Department of Human
Services, Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Act Grant Program, is
desirous of providing funding for expenses incurred in
establishing separate juvenile booking and processing areas in
each of the District Police Stations in the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and
willing to proceed with the purchase of such equipment as
identification cameras, and fingerprint and office equipment,
and;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 46-8 of the Hawaii Revised
Statutes, the Governor may enter into agreements with the
Council of the County of Hawaii providing for co-sponsorship and
maintenance of programs.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby
authorized and designated to sign in the name of the County,
Contract DHS 94-OYS-3898, which will effectuate these purposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby
directed to forward copies of this Resolution to said Mayor
Yamashiro, the Chief of Police, and any other interested
governmental agencies.
