RESOLUTION N0. 249 ~4
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII, PURSUANT TO HRS §46-8, FOR
THE RETENTION OF A GEOTHERMAL COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR.
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii through the Department of
Business Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT), is desirous
of providing funding for expenses incurred in retaining the
services of a Geothermal Compliance Coordinator to supervise the
inspection of geothermal energy producing facilities in the
County; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Planning Department is ready and
willing to proceed with the provision of support for this
program;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 46-8 of the Hawaii Revised
Statutes, the Governor may enter into agreements with the
Council of the County of Hawaii providing for co-sponsorship and
maintenance of programs.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby
authorized and designated to sign in the name of the County, the
DBEDT Letter of Agreement of June 1, 1994, which will effectuate
these purposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Cleric is ~e yy
directed to forward copies of this Resolution to said Mayor
Yamashiro, the Director of Planning, and any other interested
governmental agencies.
