RESOLUTION N0. w53 ~
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF TWELVE PICNIC TABLES FROM THE
BIG ISLAND EQUESTRIAN ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, the Big Island Equestrian Committee is an
established non-profit organization representing equestrian
associations throughout the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the Biq Island Equestrian Association has been
formed with the purpose of promoting paniolo culture and
refurbishing public equestrian facilities for family events in
partnership with the County Department of Parks and Recreation; an3
WHEREAS, the Big Island Equestrian Association and its sister
organizations and individual horseowners have supported efforts of
the County Parks and Recreation at the Panaewa Equestrian Center;
and
WHEREAS, the Big Island Equestrian Association has formed a
Trust Fund to support specific projects for the Panaewa Equestrian
Center, and has dedicated event proceeds to this effort; and
WHEREAS, the Big Island Equestrian Association has voted to
donate twelve picnic tables in perpetuity and without reservation
to the County of Hawaii through the County Department of Parks and
Recreation for use in perpetuity at the Panaewa Equestrian Center
in accordance with appropriate regulations; and
WHEREAS, article XIII, section 13-12 of the Hawaii County
Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may
accept gifts or donations of personal property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII, that in accordance with article XIII, section 13-12 of the
Hawaii County Charter, the County of Hawaii accepts the donation
of twelve picnic tables from the Big Island Equestrian Association.
