RESOLUTION N0. ~~ ~
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease,
or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal
yeaz or more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into amulti-year lease contract to acquire
two copy machines, one each for Accounts Division and Purchasing Division of the
Department of Finance; and
WHEREAS, the existing copy machines in each division were purchased together
in 1989 and have seen very heavy usage in the last five years; and
WHEREAS, the quality of the reproduction is substandazd and cannot be
satisfactorily adjusted, and the machines continue to require frequent maintenance; and
WHEREAS, the Accounts Division and Purchasing Division budgets for the
current fiscal yeaz each contain an appropriation of $1,800 for the lease of a new copy
machine; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of two new cbpy machines will result in increased
efficiency and productivity, eliminating delays and frequent trips upstairs to the Machine
Room for simple copy jobs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the County of
Hawaii:
1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into amulti-yeaz lease for the acquisition
of two copy machines to be utilized in Accounts Division and Purchasing Division;
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated
obligation of the County under the lease agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk transmit copies of this resolution to
the Department of Finance.
