RESOLUTION N0. 2f3 94
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, STATE OF HAWAII,
PURSUANT TO HRS §46-8, FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAINTAINING AND
UPKEEPING VETERANS CEMETERY FACILITIES.
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii, through its Department of
Defense, wishes to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with
the County of Hawaii, whereby the County, through its Department
of Parks and Recreation, would be paid $22,500.00 for the
maintenance and upkeep of veterans cemeteries established and
located within the County, during the period July 1, 1994 to
June 30, 1995; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 46-8, Hawaii Revised Statutes,
as amended, the State of Hawaii may enter into agreements with
the Council of the County of Hawaii providing for the
co-sponsorship and joint development and maintenance of programs
and projects which have been authorized by the legislature.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the Honorable Spencer Kalani Schutte is hereby
authorized and designated to sign, on behalf of the Council of
the County of Hawaii, the above-referenced agreement with the
Department of Defense, State of Hawaii, for the maintenance and
upkeep of veterans cemetery facilities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk is hereby
directed to forward copies of this resolution to the Honorable
Stephen K. Yamashiro, Mayor of the County of Hawaii, the
Department of Defense, Office of the Adjutant General, State of
Hawaii, and the Department of Parks and Recreation, County of
Hawaii.
