Home My WebLink AboutRES 267 Draft 01 1992-1994COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION N0. 267' 94 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, STATE OF HAWAII, PURSUANT TO HRS §46-8, WHEREBY THE STATE OF HAWAII SHALL PROVIDE LUNCH MEALS FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the DOE is authorized to contract with, and provide meals for, governmental bodies which are eligible to participate in senior nutrition programs pursuant to Title III of the Older Americans Act; and WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii is a governmental body which is eligible to participate in such programs; and WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii is desirous of engaging the services of the DOE to provide meals to participants in its senior nutrition program; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 46-8, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended, the State of Hawaii may enter into agreements with the Council of the County of Hawaii providing for the co-sponsorship and joint development and maintenance of programs and projects which have been authorized by the legislature. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Honorable Spencer Kalani Schutte, is hereby authorized and designated to sign in the name of the Council of the County of Hawaii a contract with the State of Hawaii for the providing of meals for the County of Hawaii senior nutrition program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk is hereby directed to forward copies of this resolution to the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro, Mayor of the County of Hawaii, the Department of Education, State of Hawaii, the Department of Parks and Recreation, and to any other interested government or governmental agency.
