RESOLUTION N0. °.i8 ~Y
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Agriculture,
Farmers Home Administration (FmHA), has advised the County of
Hawaii that it has accepted an application for $100,000 for the
1994 Housing Preservation Grant (HPG) program; and
WHEREAS, the primary objective of the HPG program is to
provide low or zero interest loans or grants to low income
families for basic renovations and repairs to their homes; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-73, Hawaii County Code, requires that all
instruments and documents relating to the housing programs of the
Hawaii County Housing Agency shall be signed by the Mayor as
authorized by the Charter and the Council; and
WHEREAS, it is required by the FmHA that the County of
Hawaii submit certifications and other documentation assuring
conformance to related rules, regulations and laws of the HPG
program; and
WHEREAS, a timely submission of the request to obligate
funds, in accordance with the appropriate federal regulations, is
necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii or, in his
absence, the Managing Director is hereby authorized to execute
and submit the attached 1994 HPG request to obligate funds and
all other related documents necessary to process the HPG
application to the United States Department of Agriculture,
Farmers Home Administration, in the amount of $100,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor or his authorized
representative is designated to act as the representative of the
County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Office of Housing and Community Development.
