RESOLUTION N0. 2?4'94
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO A
SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE ON AGING,
OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, STATE OF HAWAII, PURSUANT TO HRS §46-8,
FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPLEMENTING AND CONDUCTING THE DEMONSTRATION
OF THE HAWAII PROJECT CARE.
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii through the Executive Office on
Aging, pursuant to Chapter 349, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is
authorized to apply for, receive, and distribute grant monies
for elderly programs and services; and
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii has been appropriated federal
funds for the purposes of developing Hawaii Project Care, an
eldercare coalition encouraging private-public partnerships to
serve the frail elderly; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 46-8, Hawaii Revised Statutes,
as amended, the Governor of the State of Hawaii may enter into
agreements with the Council of the County of Hawaii providing
for the co-sponsorship and joint development and maintenance of
programs and projects which have been authorized by the
legislature; and
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii entered into Contract
No. PC-94-3001-4-N, dated August 1, 1993, with the County of
Hawaii, through its Office of Aging for the purpose of
implementing and conducting Hawaii Project Care; and
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii and the County of Hawaii wish
to modify the above-referenced Contract No. PC-99-3001-4-N,
dated August 1, 1993, by entering into the attached Supplemental
Agreement No. 1.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the Honorable Spencer Kalani Schutte is hereby
authorized and designated to sign, on behalf of the Council of
the County of Hawaii, the above-referenced Supplemental
Agreement No. 1 with the Executive Office on Aging, Office of
the Governor, for the implementation of Hawaii Project Care.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk is hereby
directed to forward copies of this resolution to the Honorable
Stephen K. Yamashiro, Mayor of the County of Hawaii, the
Executive Office on Aging, Office of the Governor, State of
Hawaii, and the County of Hawaii Office of Aging.
