RESOLUTION N0. 287 94
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County
Charter states that the Mayor has the power to "Create
positions...for which appropriations have been made by the
council..."; and
WHEREAS, Position No. 2835, Facility Maintenance & Service
Worker I 2/5T, BC-03, is assigned to the Hoolulu Park Complex of the
Department of Parks & Recreation; and
WHEREAS, Position No. 2835 is presently maintaining the Waiakea
Recreation Center facility; and
WHEREAS, Position No. 2835 is supervised by the Recreation
Director ii, who is under the Recreation Division of the Department
of Parks & Recreation; and
WHEREAS, usage at the skeet and trap range has tripled and
requires maintenance at least three times a week (on Wednesday,
Saturday and Sunday); and
WHEREAS, by increasing the hours from 16 hours a week to 20
hours a week, reallocating Position 2835 to a Park Caretaker I,
BC-02 position, and transferring this position to the Recreation
Division, both the Waiakea Recreation Center and the skeet range
would have the necessary maintenance work done as well as correcting
the discrepancy of having a Recreation Division employee supervise a
Hoolulu Park Complex employee; and
WHEREAS, the amount of $7,627.50 be transferred from
010-511-5511.01-011 Hoolulu Park Complez regular salaries and wages
account to 010-507-5507.01-011 Recreation Division regular salaries
and wages account.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that Position No. 2835, Facility Maintenance & Service Worker
I 2/ST be reallocated down to a Park Caretaker I, BC-02, and the
time element be increased to 1/2T.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the position as well as the salary
of $7,627.50 be transferred from the Hoolulu Park Complex to the
Recreation Division.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Departments of Parks and Recreation, Finance and
Civil Service.
