RRSOLUTION AUTHORIZIHG THR COUNTY OF HAWAII TO 6NTSR INTO AR AGRS8H6NT WITH
THH UNITRD STATB9OF AltRRICA HRS 46-7, FOR A SOBRIRTY CHRCKPOINT GRANT.
WH6R6AS, the United States of America through the State Department
of Transportation Hotor Vehicle Safety Office (MVSO), is desirous of
providing funding for expenses to conduct DUI roadblocks in the County of
Hawaii; and
WHRRRAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to
proceed with its obligations under the Sobriety Checkpoint Program;
WHBRRAS, pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes,
the Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the
County of Hawaii providing the expenditure or receipt of funds or for other
assistance;
NOW, THSRRFOR6 B6 IT RSSOLVRD BY THR COUNCIL OF THS COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and designated
to sign in the name of the County Project Number AL95-02(01-H-02), which will
effectuate these purposes.
BR IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to
forward copies of this Resolution to said Hayor Yamashiro, the Chief of
Police, and any other interested governmental agencies.
