RESOLUTION N0. 30'~ 94
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TH6 COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH
TH6 UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A DATA COLLECTION AND
REPORT GRANT.
WHEREAS, the United States of America through the State Department
of Transportation Motor Vehicle Safety Office (MVSO), is desirous of
providing funding for equipment to collect data at fatal traffic accident
scenes in the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to
proceed with its obligations under the Data Collection and Report program;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes,
the Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the
County of Hawaii providing the expenditure or receipt of funds or for other
assistance;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED HY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and designated
to sign in the name of the County Data Collection and Report Project, which
will effectuate these purposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to
forward copies of this Resolution to said Mayor Yamashiro, the Chief of
Police, and any other interested governmental agencies.
