COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Hotel Association is a statewide organization whose
purpose is to advance the interests of the hotel industry and the communities
where it does business; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Hotel Association sponsors the annual Charity Walk that
benefits the island's non-profit organizations and in turn the local residents; and
WHEREAS, the monies realized from the Charity Walk held on this island will be
distributed to agencies and non-profit organizations on this island such as the
Brantley Center, Boys Club of Hilo, Hilo Association for Retarded Citizens, Kona
Krafts, and the Salvation Army; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Hotel Association, Hawaii Chapter, is sponsoring a golf
tournament at the Kona Country Club on April 29, 1989 to help kick-off the annual
Charity Walk; and
WHEREAS, the Charity Walk Golf Tournament will generate advance publicity for
the annual Charity Walk to be held later on May 6, 1989.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it
supports the Hawaii Hotel Association, Hawaii Chapter's worthwhile endeavors and
wishes them success in the golf tournament and the annual Charity Walk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Roy
Thompson and Mr. Wilton Wong, Co-Chairmen, Charity Walk Golf Tournament.

Your Committee on Economic Development, to which was referred
Resolution No. 37-89, regarding the annual Charity Walk sponsored by
the Hawaii Chapter of the Hawaii Hotel Association, reports as
follows:
The purpose of Resolution No. 37-89 is to support the Hawaii Hotel
Association, Hawaii Chapter's efforts t_o promote their annual
Charity Walk by sponsoring a golf tournament at the Kona Country
Club on April 29, 1989 to help kick off their annual Charity Walk
which will be held on May 6, 1989. The Hawaii Hotel Association
sponsors this annual Charity Walk to raise funds to benefit the
island's non-profit organizations as their contribution t_o advance
the interests of the hotel industry and the communities where it
does business.
Your Committee on Economic Development concurs with Resolution
No. 37-89 and recommends its adoption.
