HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 040 Draft 02 1988-1992i~ COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Kailua Village has a serious traffic congestion problem; and WHEREAS, the construction of a mauka-makai connector road will be an important step toward solving traffic congestion in Kailua Village; and WHEREAS, the construction of a mauka-makai connector road will provide the basis to further alleviate the traffic congestion in the Kailua Village area; and WHEREAS, our State Representatives are attempting to secure an appropriation of $1,835,000 for the construction of a mauka-makai connector road. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it fully supports the efforts of our State Representatives to secure an appropriation for the construction of a mauka-makai connector road in Kailua Village. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii is hereby instructed to send copies of this resolution to Governor John Waihee; Senate President Richard S. H. Wong; Speaker of the House, Daniel J. Kihano; Mamoru Yamasaki, Chairman, Senate Ways & Means Committee; Joseph M. Souki, Chairman, House Finance Committee; State Senators Andrew Levin; Richard M. Matsuura and Malama Solomon; State Representatives Jerry L. Chang; Virginia Isbell; Wayne Metcalf; Mike O'Kieffe; Harvey S. Tajiri and Dwight Y. Takamine.
