HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 056 Draft 01 1988-1992COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the 29th annual meeting of the "Hawaii Macadamia Nut Association" is scheduled to be held in Kailua-Kona the first week in May, 1989; and WHEREAS, activities during this annual affair include a field day at the James Sugai Macadamia Nut farm in Keauhou on Friday, May 5, and the general meeting of the Association at the King Kamehameha Hotel on Saturday, May 6; and WHEREAS, in light of the presence of Macadamia Nut farmers and conferees, it is appropriate at this time to recognize this group and show appreciation for their contributions to the Big Island economy; and WHEREAS, the Honorable Governor John Waihee, on behalf of the State of Hawaii, has extended recognition to the "Hawaii Macadamia Nut Association" for their contributions and hopes for a productive meeting. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it designates May as "Macadamia Nut Month" and offers welcome to all members and guests of the "Hawaii Pacadamia Nut Association" and wisiles them well in their activities and deliberations. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii is hereby instructed to send a copy of this resolution to the President of the "Hawaii Macadamia Nut Association."
