Your Committee on Human Services and Recreation to which was referred
Resolution No. 57-89, reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution No. 57-89 is to congratulate Thalassa
Kawachi and Krisinda Ibarra for their success in the Students Taking
Action for Recognition competition at the Future Homemakers of
America's State conference in Hilo on March 10-12. The resolution
also extends best wishes to them in the National Competition on
July 17 to 20, 1989 in Anaheim, California.
Your Committee finds that that the Safety Town of Pahala (S.T.O.P.),
a Future Homemakers of America project at Ka'u High School, provided
a community service. Your Committee further finds that she S.T.O.P.
project, which teaches traffic safety to children aged three to
seven, is in the interest of public safety and deserves recognition.
Your Committee on Human Services and Recreat~'on is in accord with the
purpose of Resolution No. 57-89 and recommends ~ts adoption by the
