WHERZrAS, Reverend Ryeso and Mrs. Linda Toshima will be leaving
Honokaa Hongwanji to assume new responsibilities as Resident Minister
at Waipahu Hongwanji effective November 1, 1469; and
A'HE;N.;AS, Revi~:Lend ';'oshima has been Resident pinister at the
Herokaa Hongwanji Flission and Minister in charge of the xchala
Honywanji, Kamuela Hongwanji, aru Paauilo Honywanji missions since
August 1975; and
WuREAS, while in Honokaa, Reverend Toshima was instrumental in
organizing the Men's Choir, tiro Mixed Choir, and taught Japanese
Language School with the help of Firs. Toshima; and
i,'H"r,'REA:i, Fars. Toshima served as President of the Honokaa Fujinkai
for fourteen years, as an advisor for the Kanmela and Paauilo Fujinkai
and was also the cryanist foc the Honokaa ltongwanjit ar.d
Y1HEitEAS, the Hawaii County Council agrees that their dedication
to the community merits special recognition through the years and have
spiritually touched the lives of residents as well as their
congregation in many special and positive ways; and

HA4inII that we extend our warm aloha and sincere appreciation to
Reverend and Mrs. Toshima for their untiring contributions and self
sacrifice for the betterment of our community.
