HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 176 Draft 01 1988-1992COUNTY OF HAW, ~ ' :SATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION No. ~~~ 30 WHEREAS, pursuant to section 3-14, Adoption of Pay Plan, Hawaii County Charter, interim amendments to the salary ordinance may be made by resolution; and WHEREAS, the Salary Commission reviewed the salary compensation plan for the mayor, appointed officials and employees whose pay is not provided for by collective bargaining or any other section of the law; and WHEREAS, the Salary Commission found that the salary compensation plan for those elected and appointed officials has not been adjusted since January 1, 1986; and WHEREAS, the Salary Commission recommended revisions to the pay plan and salary adjustments for these officials and employees in order to provide a fair and just compensation for County executives in relation to the salaries of their counterparts in other local county jurisdictions as well as in relation to the compensation of their subordinates; and WHEREAS, the mayor has reviewed and accepted the majority of the recommendations of the Salary Commission and pursuant to section 5-1.4(e) of the Hawaii County Charter has recommended to the council a pay plan for these officers and employees of the County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the salary ordinance (89-87) shall be amended effective April 1, 1990, by replacing section 3(A) with Schedule A, attached hereto. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the pay grade for officials and employees under section 8 of the salary ordinance (89-87) shall be adjusted, effective April 1, 1990, in accordance with Schedule B, attached hereto. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, pursuant to section 2-150, Hawaii County Code, the salary schedule under section 3(C) of the salary ordinance (89-87) relating to the salaries of the deputies in the offices of the Corporation Counsel and the Prosecuting Attorney shall be amended effective April 1, 1990, by replacing said schedule with Schedule C, attached hereto. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Honorable Larry S. Tanimoto, Mayor of the County of Hawaii, the Hawaii County Salary Commission, and to the Departments of Finance and Civil Service for their information.
