RESOLUTION No. '80 ~~
WHEREAS, the 29th Annual International Festival of the Pacific
will be held on July 16-22, 1990; and
WHEREAS, the Hilo Downtown Association and the Main Street
Program desires to utilize a portion of the Hilo Bayfront Parking
Lot between the Haili Street entrance and the Mooheau Bus Terminal
for the special events; and
WIiEREAS, the Hilo Bayfront Packing Lot is a County metered
parking lot; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 24-217 of the Hawaii County Code of
1983, the Council may, by resolution, dispense with the enforcement
of meter regulated parking for a specified period of time in any
parking meter zone to accommodate any special events, concerts,
parades, or other similar activity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT 12ESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it hereliy di.sperises with the enforcement of meter
regulated parking in that portion of the Hilo Bayfront Parking Lot
between the Haili Street entrance and the Mooheau Bus Terminal
during the period July 16 thru 23, 1990 in conjunction with the
festivities of the 29th International Festival.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
transmit copies of this resolution to Mayor Larry S. Tanimoto;
Police Chief Victor Vierra; Chief Engineer Bruce McClure;
Harold Fujimoto, President, Hilo Downtown Improvement Association;
and Kirk Soares, Director, Hilo Main Street Program.
