ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983
(1995 EDITION), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 10, division 5, section 24-280, schedule 28 (No pazking
at anytime), subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is
amended by deleting the following item:
[(82) Kinoole Street, from Kawailani Street to the Puna boundary of
Waiakeawaena School, except for the paved pazking area provided on the
makai side.]
SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 10, division 5, section 24-280, schedule 28 (No parking
at anytime), subsection (c) South Hilo, item (83), of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995
edition), is amended to read as follows:
(83) Kinoole Street, [east]makai side, from [a point approximately seven
hundred fifteen feet Puna of Kawailani Street southerly to Haihai
Street.]Haihai Street to the Puna boundary of Waiakeawaena School.
SECTION 3. Chapter 24, article 10, division 5, section 24-280, schedule 28 (No pazking
at anytime), subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is
amended by deleting the following item:
[(85) Kinoole Street, makai side, from Kawailani Street and extending for a
distance of one hundred feet in the Hamakua direction.]
SECTION 4. Chapter 24, article 10, division 5, section 24-280, schedule 28 (No parking
at anytime), subsection (c) South Hilo, item (92), of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995
edition), is amended to read as follows:
(92) Kinoole Street, [west]mauka side, from Kawailani Street to a point [six hundred
fifty-six] seven hundred twenty-five feet [Puna of Kawailani Street.]in the Puna
direction.
SECTION 5. Chapter 24, article 10, division 5, section 24-280, schedule 28 (No parking
at anytime), subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is
amended by adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
~ Kinoole Street, makai side, from a point three hundred thirty-seven feet north of
the Puna boundary of Waiakeawaena School to a point one hundred feet north of
Kawailani Street.
SECTION 6. Chapter 24, article 10, division 6, section 24-287, schedule 35 (Passenger
loading zones), subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is
amended by adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
~ Kinoole Street, makai side, from the Waiakeawaena School Puna boundary, to a
point three hundred thirty-seven feet in the Hamakua direction from 7:15 a.m. to
8:00 a.m., and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on school da}_s.
SECTION 7. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New material is underscored. In
printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material and underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 8. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person
or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to
this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 9. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
