COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION
WHF,REAS, Section 3-14, Hawaii County Charter, provides that interim
amendments to the Pay Plan may be by resolution of the Council; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 90-76, effective June 22, 1990, is the Salary Ordinance
of 1990; and
WHEREAS, Section 8.01, provides for six legislative assistant positions for
the Office of the County Council; and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that it_ is necessary that each councilmember be
authorized to appoint and supervise a staff to assist them in the orderly
discharge of their duties and respensibiliti_es as councilmemhers; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to amend the Salary Ordinance to accommodate
the aforementioned.
NO[n7, THERF,FORF_, BF_ IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the Salary Ordinance is hereby amended as follows:
SECTION 8.01 OFFICE OF THE COUN"'Y COUNCIL
Change 6 Leaislative Assistant positions to 9 Council Legislative Assistant
positions. Pay Grade to remain as LR-l.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii transmit a
copy of this resolution to the Office of the County Council and the Department
of Civil Service.

Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution
No. 269-91, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 269-91 proposes to amend Section 8.01 of the Salary
Ordinance by changing sis Legislative Assistant positions to nine
Council Legislative Assistant positions.
These new positions will be utilized to assist councilmembers in
carrying out their duties and responsibilities. Each position will
be appointed and supervised by the respective appointing
councilmember.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of Resolution
No. 269-91 and recommends its adoption by the /Council.
