RESOLUTION No. 277 ~2
WHEREAS, pursuant to County Charter Section 3-14 interim
amendments to the Salary Ordinance may be made by resolution; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 90-76 is the Salary Ordinance of 1990; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.4(c) states that the Mayor has
the power to "Create positions...for which appropriations have been
made by the council..."; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Housinq and Community Development (OHCD),
in its bid to better utilize exiting resources to maximize current

and future programs, has reassessed its existing operations and
identified changes, which proposed reorganization has been budgeted
for and was preliminarily approved by the Hawaii County Housing
Agency (HCHA); and
WHEREAS, the reorganization does not increase the number of
positions in the OHCD; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the OHCD regular salaries and
wages account.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that the Salary Ordinance is hereby amended for the following
department:
SECTION 8.02(d) OFFICE OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT.
OFFICE OF THE MAYOR.
Delete 1 Planner/Housing Specialist SR-22 position and add
1 Assistant Housing Administrator EM-3 position.
Delete 1 Community Development Technician TAN SR-18
position and add 1 Housing Aide II SR-11 position.
Delete 1 Community Development Technician TAN SR-18
position and add 1 Housing Quality Standards Inspector
SR-15 position.
Reallocate 1 Clerk-Stenographer SR-09 to Senior
Clerk-Stenographer SR-11.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds for the newly created
positions are available in the OHCD regular salaries and wages
account.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Departments of Civil Service and Finance and to
the Office of Housing and Community Development.
