RESOLUTION No. 29a 91

WHEREAS, the County Council recognizes and expresses its suppor`_
for the United States military `.coops stationed in the Middle East,
many of who have been deployed iron Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, these military troops have demonstra`ed their courage
and bravery during the trying months of Operation Desert Shield and
Opera`_.ion Desert Storm; and
WHEREAS, the men and women of our armed forces are striving to
secure freedom for others, so `.hat they too may experience the
freedom we Americans know and love; and
WHEREAS, on Sunday Feb. 24, 1991 various organizations on the
Island of Hawaii will rally together to honor our brave men and
women fighting in `he Persian Gulf War.
NOW, 'THEREFORE, BE I'T RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it requests and urges our citizens to join the Sunday
rally and motorcade in honoring and remembering the American
military `..coops who are fighting in the Middle East, to preserve and
protect liberty, justice and freedom for a]1.
BE I'i FURTHER RESOLVED that all people on the Island of Hawaii
give special attention with love and prayers to our local families
who have loved ones engaged in the Gulf conflict.
BE I'i FUR'PHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Coun`.y of E3awaii
transmit copies of `.his resolution to the Koa-Puna Motorcycle Club
and the Alii Motorcycle Club.

WHEREAS, the County Council recognizes and expresses its support
for the United States Military Troops that are stationed in the
Middle East, many of which have been deployed from Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, these troops have demonstrated their courage and

the Persian Gulf L7ar.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it requests and urges all people to join with the
veterans, civilians and other organizations to support the American
military troops who are in the Middle East, preserving and
protecting the American way of life.
BE I'1 FUR'PHER RESOLVED that all people on the Island of Hawaii
give special atten`_ion to the local families who know and have loved
ones engaged in conflict ensuring liberty and freedom for all.
BE I'i FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
transmit copies of this resolution to all elected Officials on the
Island of Hawaii, to the Koa-Puna Motorcycle Club and the Alii
Motorcycle Club.

RE: Persian Gulf War
Pursuant to Section 1(d) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of
the Council of the County of Hawaii, this written approval is
submitted in regards to Resolution No. 29.0-91, relating to the
Persian Gulf War, waiving said referral from the Commi`tee on
Human Services, in order that appropriate action can be taken
by the Council.
In reviewing the contents of the referral, it is deemed
advisable that such waiver be granted.
