RQ' P,esolution 295-91/HSRC-69 COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION WHEREAS, March of 1991 is the fifth annual National Women's History Month; and WHEREAS, the theme of this year's National Women's History Month is "Nurturing Tradition, Fostering Change;" and WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Committee on the Status of Women is sponsoring a "Real Women" creative writing competition for students islandwide in grades 5 through 12; and WHEREAS, the essay contest encourages students to learn about and to be proud of the outstanding accomplishments of women in Hawaii. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it recognizes the courage and countless contributions of women throughout the United States and especially on the Island of Hawaii during the celebration of March 1991 as Women's History Month. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii is instructed to transmit true copies of this resolution to Ms. Kaipo Kincaid, Chairperson, Hawaii County Committee on the Status of Women and Ms. Carol A. Factors, Essay Coordinator, along with the Council's best wishes for success and recognition deserving of their worthy contributions. Dated at Hilo, Hawaii, this 6th day of March ~ 1991. In conjunction with this event, the Hawaii County Committee on the Status of Women is sponsoring a "Real Women" creative writing competition for students islandwide in grades 5 through 12 in order that they may learn about and be proud of the outstanding accomplishments of women in Hawaii. Your Committee recognizes the courage and countless contributions of women throughout the nation and especially on the Island of Hawaii during this worthwhile celebration.
