RESOLUTION N0. 382 91
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.4(c) of the Hawaii County
Charter states that the Mayor has the power to "Create
positions...for which appropriations have been made by the
council..."; and
WHEREAS, Position No. 2834, Recreation Technician II 7/20T,
SR-11, is presently assigned to the drag strip and skeet range for
14 hours a week; and
WHEREAS, the skeet range opens at 9 in the morning and closes at
4 in the afternoon on the weekend; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Technician reports to work at 9 in the
morning and goes home at 4 in the afternoon; and
WHEREAS, by increasing the hours from 14 hours a week to 16
hours a week, the Recreation Technician will have a half hour to
prepare and set up the skeet range for use before opening at 9 and
another half hour to clean up after closing; and
WHEREAS, during periods when the skeet range is closed for
National Guard training, this position will assist the Recreation
Division in conducting programs; and
WHEREAS, a convenient time to change the time element of a
position would be when the position is vacant; and
WHEREAS, Position No. 2839, Recreation Technician II 7/20T,
SR-11, is presently vacant; and
WHEREAS, additional funds in the salaries and wages account of
the Recreation Division of the Department of Parks and Recreation
are not needed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that Position No. 2834, Recreation Technician II 7/20T, be
increased to Recreation Technician II 2/5T.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Departments of Parks and Recreation, Finance and
Civil Service.
