RESOLUTION NO. - 39/Zi SZ
WHEREAS, Mr. Yukiwo Taniguchi, Hilo businessman and
community leader, passed away on November 28, 1991, at the age
of 75; and
WH F.REAS,, Mr. Taniguchi is a respected community business
leader serving as chairman of the Board of KTA Super Stores; and
WHEREAS, M[. Taniguchi's tenure with the KTA Super Stores
reflected his many talents, for under his leadership the
community has been richly served by the expansion of nine
neighborhood markets to the super store chain serving the entire
Island community; and
WHEREAS, Mc. Taniguchi exemplified true commitment and
unselfish dedication toward the betterment of business and
community affairs of the Big Island; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Taniguchi's contributions are recognized by
his many achievements and involvement as a member of various
organizations such as the Waiakea Pirates, Crescent City Lions,
Hilo Interpreters Club and the American Legion Club; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Taniguchi's contributions towards the
betterment of mankind will always be remembered by our
residents; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that it extends its deepest sympathy and
condolence to the family of Mr. Yukiwo Taniguchi.
HE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the clerk of the County of
Hawaii transmit true copies of this resolution to Mr. Barry
Taniguchi, Mr. Lon Taniguchi and Mrs. Maryan Miyada.
