COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION N0. 398 92.
WHEREAS, there is established within the Waimea community a
group of concerned citizens known as the Anuenue Playground Committee
who are embarked on a project to improve recreational facilities
within the community; and
WHEREAS, this Committee has planned an innovative recreational
complex which will benefit all members of our community and provide a
safe and secure recreational environment for our children; and
WHEREAS, although the Anuenue Playground Committee has been
very successful in soliciting funds from various community groups to
help defray the costs of developing and operating this complex,
additional funding is needed to assure the timely completion of the
project; and
WHEREAS, there is a need for financial assistance and support
from the County of Hawaii to assure the timely completion of this
worthwhile community recreational complex.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it recognizes the community's need and benefit this
recreational complex will provide to our citizens and appreciates the
public spirited initiative taken by the Anuenue Playground Committee
in their efforts to plan and develop a community recreational complex.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Hawaii County Council
authorizes Mayor Lorraine R. Inouye to direct $25,000, from the
current Capital Improvement Project Budget, to the Anuenue
Playground Committee to assist them in completing this recreational
complex.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
is hereby directed to transmit copies of this resolution to Mayor
Lorraine R. Inouye and the Director of the Department of Parks and
Recreation.

Your Committee on Human Services and Recreation to which was referred
Resolution No. 398-92, reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution No. 398-92 is to recognize the Waimea
Community Anuenue Playground Committee in their efforts to develop a
recreational playground complex on a present Waimea park playground
site.
Your Committee finds that there is a need for financial assistance
and support from the County of Hawaii to assure the timely completion
of their worthwhile community recreational complex and further
authorizes Mayor Lorraine R. Inouye to direct $25,000 from the
current Capital improvement Project budget, to the Anuenue Playground
Committee to assist them in completing this recreational complex.
The Playground Committee will insure the continued maintenance of the
physical structure.
Your Committee concurred with the Human Services and Recreation
Committee Chairman's recommendation to approve Resolution No. 398-92.
Your Committee on Human Services and Recreation is in accord with the
purpose of Resolution No. 398-92 and recommends its adoption by the
County Council.
