RESOLUTION No. 405 92
WHEREAS, the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is empowered to
designate areas of land for experimental and demonstration
housing projects to research and develop ideas to reduce the cost
of housing; and
WHEREAS, on November 18, 1970, the County Council approved
the designation of 65.65 acres of land in Keauhou, North Kona,
Hawaii, as an area for an experimental and demonstration housing
project, under the provisions of Section 46-15, HRS, as the Queen
Liliuokalani Village Experimental Project; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Council approved the designation
of Mr. Mequmi Kon, Deputy Managing Director, as the designated
County official to review all plans and specifications for the
subdivision, development, and improvement of the land and the
construction and sale of homes thereon; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii now wishes to redesignate the
Housing Administrator as the designated County official and
retain the Project as an experimental and demonstration housing
project in compliance with the requirements of the Section 46-15,
Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the Mayor is hereby authorized to designate the
Housing Administrator of the County of Hawaii to serve as the
designated County official to administer the Queen Liliuokalani
Village Experimental Project, as provided by Section 46-15, HRS.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be directed to
forward true copies of this Resolution to the Planning Department
and the Office of Housing and Community Development.
