RESOLUTION No
464 92
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD) has advised the County of Hawaii that it will
accept amendments to the 1988, 1989, and 1990 Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small Cities Applications; and
WHEREAS, the primary objective of the CDBG program is the
development of viable communities by providing decent housing;
suitable living environments; and expanding economic
opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate
income; and
WHEREAS, it is required by HUD that the County of Hawaii
submit a certification assuring conformance to related rules,
regulations, and laws of the CDBG program; and
WHEREAS, a timely submission of the amendments to the 1988,
1989, and 1990 CDBG Small Cities Applications, in accordance with
the appropriate federal regulations, are necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii, or in her
absence the Managing Director, is hereby authorized to execute
and submit the attached 1988, 1989, and 1990 CDBG amended
applications and any other related documents necessary to process
the amended applications to HUD.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is designated to act
as the representative of the County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County of Hawaii will comply
with the certifications.
