RESOLUTION No,

WHEREAS, Resolution 468-92 of the Hawaii County Council
recognized the appropriateness of developing the County's three-acre
site in Waikoloa as a facility to house the Aero-Medivac program and
an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ground responder unit; and
WHEREAS, Nansay Hawaii, Inc., is committed to donating a medivac
helicopter and the necessary facility to house the helicopter and
crew; and
WHEREAS, Waikoloa Homesites Venture, pursuant to SMA Use Permit
No. 25, has agreed to satisfy their community benefit assessment
requirement by paying to the County of Hawaii $1.5 million upon
receipt of final plan approval and a grading permit for the golf
course and another $1.5 million to be paid upon the opening of the
course for paid public play; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 468-92, the Council has
committed to utilize the proceeds from community benefit assessments
in the Waikoloa area for the construction of an Advanced Life
Support station.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it hereby concurs in utilizing funds to the extent
necessary from the balance of the Waikoloa Homesites Venture's
community benefit assessment for the development of a facility to
accommodate an Advanced Life Support ground responder unit at the
Waikoloa site.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
transmit a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Lorraine R.
Inouye, Mayor of the County of Hawaii; Mr. Daniel Ayala, Fire Chief;
Mr. Norman Hayashi, Planning Director and Mr. William Takaba,
Finance Director.
