RESOLUTION N0. 497 92
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County
Charter states that the Mayor has the power to "Create
positions...for which appropriations have been made by the
council..."; and
WHEREAS, Hilo Municipal Golf Course, a division of the
Department of Parks and Recreation, is in the process of assessing
its manpower and equipment resource requirements for the short and
long term; and
WHEREAS, the proposed reorganization does not increase the
number of positions, but rather will create a temporary as needed
position to assess the future need for a permanent position; and
WHEREAS, the creation of a temporary as needed position gives
the existing personnel at the golf course an opportunity to further
diversity and expand their skills by being trained, instructed and
assigned to this temporary position; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the regular salaries and wages
accounts of the Golf Course Division.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE ZT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that one (1) Equipment Operator I (Temporary), WB-6 position
be created for and assigned to the Hilo Municipal Golf Course, a
division of the Department of Parks and Recreation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds for this newly created
position aye available in the regular salaries anc~ wages account of
the Hilo Municipal Golf Course Division.
HE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Departments of Parks and Recreation, Finance, and
Civil Service.
