RESOLUTION N0. 531 92

WHEREAS, the "Hilo Community Development Plan," adopted by
Planning Commission Resolution 1 on May 21, 1975 is the official
document which provides the guidelines for Planning Commission
decisions within the Hilo Urban area; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii General Plan, Ordinance No.
439 adopted December 15, 1971, recognized community development
plans as mid-range plans which further define the long-range goals
and policies of the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii General Plan as adopted by
Ordinance No. 439, as amended, has been repealed and a new General
Plan has been adopted pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance
No. 89-142, effective November 14, 1989; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the County of Hawaii finds that it
is appropriate that the "Hilo Community Development Plan" be
updated for consistency with the County of Hawaii General Plan of
November 14, 1989.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED HY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it requests the Mayor of the County of Hawaii to
provide adequate funding for an update of the "Hilo Community
Development Plan."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk Of the County Of
Hawaii is directed to transmit copies of this resolution to the
Mayor of the County of Hawaii, the Planning Director and the
Director of Finance.
