Subject: Proposed Amendment to Chapter 2, Article 42, Sections 2-217 and 2-218 of the Hawaii
County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), Relating to Public Access, Open Space, and
Natural Resources Preservation Fund
For the Council's consideration, please find attached a bill to amend the provisions of article 42 of
the Hawaii County Code, relating to the Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources
Preservation Fund.
The amendments are a result of discussions and cooperation with the Corporation Counsel to help
clarify some aspects of the code relating to the responsibilities of the Public Access, Open Space,
and Natural Resources Preservation Fund Commission.
This proposed amendment is illustrated via Ramseyer format.
Please place this matter on the appropriate committee agenda for July 21, 2009.
