STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO. 21g 09
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THREE
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($3,000) FROM THE GROUP 70 FOUNDATION
FUND OF THE HAWAII COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Community Foundation has awarded three thousand
dollars ($3,000) to the County of Hawaii to be used for the Envision Downtown Hilo
2025 (EDH 2025) Project; and
WHEREAS, the application, "EDH 2025: Action Plan Update -Sustainable
Design Guidelines for Downtown Hilo", was submitted to the Hawaii Community
Foundation by the County of Hawaii Planning Department and the EDH 2025
VisionKeepers to conduct a 5-year update of the EDH 2025 Plan and to incorporate the
Vision and design related strategies and actions into the Zoning Code; and
WHEREAS, the implementation of this collaborative project will also include
funds previously appropriated by the County Council and the Planning Department; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Department recommends the acceptance of this
award; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of money,
securities, or other personal property or real estate or any interest in real estate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County
Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this award.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the
Departments of Finance and Planning; and that a letter of appreciation and a copy of
this resolution be sent to the Hawaii Community Foundation c/o Terry Savage,
Philanthropic Services Program Officer, Hawaii Community Foundation, 1164 Bishop
Street, Suite 800, Honolulu, HI 96813.
