Comm. 413: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 5-1.0.8, AND (Bill 103) CHAPTER 21, ARTICLE 2, SECTION 21-5 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO THE USE OF A TENT OR A STRUCTURE OF SIMILAR TYPE AS A TEMPORARY RESIDENCE WHILE CONSTRUCTING A PERMANENT DWELLING UNIT (allows a landowner to live in a temporary structure for two years from the date of issuance of a building permit, providing certain conditions are sustained including adequate sanitation, emergency access, fire safety, electrical safety, a buffer zone between the building site and living areas, and protecting the county from liability for any injury or property damage that may occur as a result of the temporary living arrangement) From Councilmember Emily Naeole, dated June 23, 2009 transmitting the above bill.
