S39 ~~ WHEREAS, out of the seventeen 4-H members from the State of Hawaii who attended the annual National 4-H Congress in Chicago, Illinois, from November 27 to December 3, 1982, seven Big islanders were recognized for their outstanding achievement in different project areas; and WHEREAS, the selections made by the judges at the County and State level were based on their project material, record book of their accomplishments, active participation, and leadership; and WHEREAS, the seven who were selected for their outstanding achievement, their sponsors and their 4-H Leader-Chaperone are. as follows: ACHIEVEMENT STATE WINNER CHERYL AKINS; Senior at Waiakea High Schoo, member of the Pink Carnations 4-H Club in Hilo, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Akine. Sponsor:. Ford Motor Company Fund BREAD STATE WINNER PAIILINE HIGAKI: Senior at Waiakea High School, member of the Green Mints 4-H Club in Hilo., daughter of Dr. s Mrs. Tadashi Higaki. Carnations 4-H Club Sponsor: Hawaii 4-H Foundation NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it extends its congratulations to the Big Island 4-Hers who won the seven State Awards in Achievement, Bread, Dairy, Food-Nutrition, Home Environment, Leadership, Safety and to their 4-H Leader from the Big Island. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be instructed to remit a copy of this resolution to Cheryl Akine Pauline Higaki, Ryan Gomes, Kari Ann Imamura, Craig Nishiura, Toai Jean Sakai, Lawrence Mori and to Mrs. Toshiko Yamano.
