STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEM ON THE AGENDA
PRESENTATION by Mike Buck, Administrator, Division of Forestry and Wildlife,
Department of Land and Natural Resources, State of Hawaii, on the Waiakea Timber
Management Area (WTMA), philosophy and guidelines for commercial harvesting of
trees from forest reserve lands, test processing of eucalyptus and Queensland maple trees
with the WTMA for plywood and veneer timber products, and sustainable management
practices to support overall forest health, commercial activity, recreation, hunting,
gathering, education and research.
