Resolution
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 4.03, Article 2, Chapter 9,
Hawaii County Code, County street names are subject to the
approval of th.e Planning Commission and subsequent adoption by the
County Council; and
WHEREAS, in April 1964, the Hawaii County Board of Supervisors
accepted a street from an approved Waimea subdivision identified
on tax map key number 6-4-15 which has remained unnamed to this
day; and
WHEREAS, the County Council'finds it appropriate and timely to
officially designate the County road accepted from this
subdivision after Manuel Pacheco, who symbolizes the spirit of the
paniolo from the era of the late 1800's.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it requests the County road identified on tax map key
number 6-4-15 be named in honor of Manuel Pacheco and a resolution
to that effect be sent to the Planning Commission in accordance
with Section 4.03, Article 2, Chapter 9, Hawaii County Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
transmitted to Mr. Sidney Fuke, Planning Director and
Mr. Duster S. Kahakua, 15-2724 He'e Street, Pahoa, Hawaii 96778.
