RESOLUTION NO. ~~~ ~~
F~7HEREAS, on December 4, 1982, the Sth Annual Hawaii County
Junior Miss Scholarship Pageant was successfully concluded with the
selection of Miss Ann Ito as the deserving winner; and
WHEREAS, this noteworthy public ae.r.vice project which is
sponsored by the Hilo Jaycees is intended not as a beauty contest
but to recognize, reward and encourage all-around excellence in hur
island's young ladies by accentuating "inner beauty"; and
47HEREAS, Ann Ito's victory over eleven other qualified
contestants was exemplary, as high standards were .r.equired in such
purviews as scholastic achievement, poise and appearance, creative
and ger.forming arts, youth fitness and the all important judges'
interview criteria.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAPIAII that it congratulates Miss Ann Ito upnn her meritorious
selection as the Hawaii County Junior Miss for. 1983, and wishes
her continued successes in all of her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
is instructed to remit true copies of this resolution to
Miss Ann Ito, her parents Dr. Phillip and Carole Ito, Principal
John Sosa of the Waiakea High School, President Dennis Yoshida of
the Hilo Jaycees, and Pageant Chairman Rodney Oahir.o.
