HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 496 Draft 01 1980-1984a RESOLUTION N0. ~~~ g~ WHEREAS, Mr. Richard Tong, Recreation Assistant with the Department of Parks and Recreation, retired on October 28, 1982, culminating nearly thirty-seven years of government service; end WHEREAS, during his esteemed tenure, this most accommodating civil servant worked with the Hawaii Island United Fund, the Blood Bank of Hawaii, the .swimming program, junior and biddy boxing, the Morrie Monarch Festival, the International Festival, Aloha Week and countless other volunteer activities all concerned with the betterment of our island community; and WHEREAS, Mr. Tong has been an active end effective member in organizations as the Lincoln Wreckers Athletic Ciub, the Haili Men's Volleyball Club, the U.S. Volleyball Association, the Pacific Rim International Volleyball Association, the Moku-O-Hawaii Canoe Racing Association and the Big Island Amateur eoxing Association; and WHEREAS, Mr. Tong's patience and understanding will be missed by all those who had the good fortune to work with him on his many projects. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it congratulates and extends its best wishes to Mr. Richard Tong and may good health be with him in his retirement years so he can continue his voluntary activities. 8E IT FURTHER RESOLYED that a true copy of this Resolution, be presented to Mr. Richard Tong.
