RESOLUTION NO. 48
WHEREAS, Suisan Company, Limited, celebrates its 75th
anniversary on Saturday, October 23, 1982; and
WHEREAS, Suisan had Its beginning as a fish auction and market
facility along the picturesque Wailoa River; and
WHEREAS, over the years, the fish auction activity has evolved
into a unique tourist attraction; and
WHEREAS, diversification into frozen foods and fruit
processing has strengthened the Company's longevity capabilities;
and
WHEREAS, Suisan's ability to survive several devastating
tsunami inundations attests to the Company's knowledge and
practice of sound managerial principles.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it congratulates Suisan Company, Limited, on its
Diamond Anniversary.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council extends its best
wishes for continued success as Suisan embarks upon its centennial
celebration in the year 2007.
SE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
transmit a true copy of this Resolution to Mr. Rex Y. Matsuno,
President of Suisan Company, Limited.
