RESOLUTION N0. 468 82
WHEREAS, blanket criticisms of government workers have been
to a large extent unfairly made; and
WHEREAS, the road crew as well as the parks maintenance crew
of Hawaii County in the districts of North and South Kona have been
'doing a commendable job in the face of an increased work load; and
WHEREAS, these crews (18 workers in public works and 19 in
parks) care for the needs of an area larger than the whole island of
Oahu; and
WHEREAS, it has been observed that the County workers in Kona
are a hardworking, dedicated crew.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it commends the Public Works and Park Maintenance Crews
in the North and South Kona districts for their. notable dedication
to their jobs in these times of economic stress.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be forwarded
to Edward Harada, Chief Engineer, Public Works Department and Milton
Hakoda, Director, Parks and Recreation,Department.
