HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 461 Draft 01 1980-1984 O O County of Hawaii - State of Hawaii Resolution WHEREAS, business and professionally-oriented conventions, seminars, and similar meetings facilitate the exchange of knowledge and latest techniques in advancing technical skills and overall business development; and WHEREAS, S. B. 2647 of the 97th Congress, 2nd Session, proposes to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 by allowing business expense deductions for conventions and similar business activities on cruise ships; and WHEREAS, S. B. 2647 is the kind of progressive legislation our economy currently needs because it encourages more private sector spending for domestic goods and services at a time when such spending is most needed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it wholeheartedly endorse passage of S. B. 2647 to allow business expense deductions for business-related activities on cruise ships. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Committee On Finance and the Hawaii Congressional Team: U. S. Senators Daniel K. Inouye and Spark M. Matsunaga, and U. S. Representatives Daniel K. Akaka and Cecil Heftel. Dated at Hilo, Hawaii, this 6th day of October 1982.
