WHEREAS, Robert Fcaleigii Martin, District Road Overseer for the
l3an,aKUa District, County of Hawaii, passed away on Sew tember 9,

WHEREAS, Raleig'r,'s unexpected ana untimely death has left a
void in the lives of his many friends anu relatives in his beloved
Honckaa ana throughout the Big Island; and
WtiEI2EA5, all throughr.is adult life, Raleigh served as an
iuspiratior, for oti;ers with his natural anility as a leaner and
his no-norserse approach to duty anti work; and
4vHEREAS, as District Road Overseer for the Comity for
14 years, italeigii was known a5 a doer, tivho often took on jc,ias ti;at
were thought to be too pig ana too complex for tiie County crew to
handle; and
WHEREAS, although he tGGk oti those Wpbs because, being
Raleigh, they were considered as personal challenges, he disc had
a more important reason, to improve the public image of the County
road cr2cvs in his district; and
WHEREAS, file past decade has indeed beer, good years for
Harnakua with Raleigh as District Roacz Overseer and he will be
sorely missed by the people of Hamakua ana all who knew and wcrk2a
wilt: him in the County government.
