RESOLU TION ~ NO . x'7'7 S G
WHEREAS, in solemn ceremony beginning with the sound of the
conch shell, the traditional chant, and the performance of the
ancient hula, Aloha Week Ring Donald Ronalo Toientino and
Aloha Week Queen Elizabeth Leinaala Loo were installed; and
WHEREAS, for an.entire week, the Aloha Week Rine and Queen
will reign over festivities planned in the districts of Hilo,
Rohala, and Rona; and
WHEREAS, many talented performers from the High Schools' ~
Hawaiian Performing Arts, Hawaii Young Singers, Puna Young Hawaiians, \
Beamer-Solomon Hula Arts and other groups, along with well-known
entertainers as Aunty Genoa Reawe, Peter Ahia and Group, and the
George Naope Hula Halau, will contribute their time and talent c
in carrying forth the theme of "Hawaii Isles of Smiles".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COIINCIL OF TAE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it takes this means to congratulate Aloha week
Hawaii, Inc.; Aloha Week Ring Donald Ronalo Tolentino, Aloha Week
Queen Elizabeth Leinaala Loo; and the many talented people for
once again helping to produce the traditional Aloha Week programs.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County Gf Hawaii
be instructed to send true copies of this resolution to
Tits Beamer Solomon, Hawaii Island Manager of Aloha Week Hawaii,
Inc.; Aloha Week Ring Donald Ronalo Tolentino; and Aloha Week
Queen Elizabeth Leinaala Loo.
