Resolution
WHEREAS, the Office of the Legislative Auditor has submitted
to the County Council a study of the current and future office
space requirements of the County Government and the alternatives
available to meet the demands for more space; and
WHEREAS, in anticipation of a similar report by the County
Administration, the Council adopted Resolution No. 432 on
August 4, 1982, deferring action on the Legislative Auditor's
study and establishing a moratorium on any renovation of the
former Hilo Memorial Hospital building until September 15, 1982;
and
WHEREAS, the Council now finds it necessary to further extend
the moratorium to enable it to fully deliberate the contents of
both studies and come up with meaningful recommendations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that Resolution No. 432 be amended to direct the Chief
Engineer and Finance Director not to proceed with any renovation
of the former Hilo Memorial Hospital building until October 6,
1982.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that true copies of this Resolution be
transmitted to. May or Herbert Matayoshi, Finance Director Stanley
Nakamae and Chief Engineer Edward Harada.
