Chillingworth was appointed judge of the District Court i.n Hilo by State Supreme Couzt Chief Justice William Richardson; and WHEREAS, Chillingworth was recommended for. judgeship by the Hawaii County Bar Association of which he is a member; and WHEREAS, Chillingworth received his law degree in 1968 from the University of Denver and worked as a law clerk for Federal Judge Martin Pence, was associated with the law firm of Wnodell,'Mukai, Wirtz ~ Ichiki, and before his appointment, was a partner with the law firm of Nakamoto, Yoshioka and Chillingworth; and ' WHEREAS, Chillingworth's experience in law has been in criminal defense and the juvenile justice system and will thus bring some expertise to the justice system in Family Court matters; and WHEREAS, Chi,llingwor.th is a Big Island native and a member of the Kamaaina Chillingworth Family. NOW, THEREF~~RE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it extends its congratulations to William Seymour Chillingworth for his appointment as judge of the District Court in Hilo. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that. the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be instructed to remit a true capy of this resolution to William Seymour Chillingworth.
