RESOLUTION N0. ro9$ $,~
WHEREAS, William J. Murphy, President of the National
Association of Counties (NACo) was instrumental in leading the
Association through its recent financial crisis; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Murphy, in his reorganization plans, promised
Association members that ne would return the Association to the
priorities on which it was founded - lobbying and improving county
governments throughout the nation; and
WHEREAS, despite his busy schedule, Mr. Murphy has always
managed to insure that the concerns•of the Hawaii State Association
of Counties are given due respect and consideration; and
V~HEREAS, the Hawaii delegation is appreciative of his diligence
and determination in assuring that county concerns are addressed at
the national level,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED 8Y THE COUNCIL OF THE COUPdTY OF
HAWAII that William J. Murphy is congratulated for his successful
reorganization of PJACo and is encouraged to maintain his commitment
to serving the best interests of counties.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
transmit a true copy of this resolution to Mr. William J. Murphy,
President of the National Association of Counties.
