HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 681 Draft 01 1980-1984,:: G RESOLUTION NO. ~~~ ~.`~' WHEREAS, on July 11, 1983, four volunteers and volunteer programs were cited as the 1983 outstanding projects from the Big Island; and WHEREAS, this recognition is deservedly accorded annually to individuals and programs within our communities which have contributed to the enhancement of the delivery of human services to the needy; and WHEREAS, in the four categories of competition there were sixteen qualified entities considered, with Mrs. Ginny Aste winning the Individual Adult award, Dr. Fritz Forbes taking the Senior Citizen category, the Kona Literacy Council's Writer's Hui winning the Most Innovative Project, and the Burnett family being chosen as the Outstanding Volunteer Organization; and WHEREAS, these individuals have now been deemed "NIP'S" or Volunteers in Paradise, by Mrs. George R. Ariyoshi and received an additional tribute at the Seventh Annual First Lady's Outstanding Volunteer award program which was held on Oahu on July 16, 1983. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it commends these four outstanding endeavors by members of our community who have dedicated their time and compassion towards the betterment of the lives of many people in our communities around the island. ~'es. No...._._...M_.___~.._._ Hate- ------------JUd.2 8.1983_ ~~ 0 0 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be instructed to transmit true copies of this resolution to the esteemed volunteers Mrs. Ginny Aste, Dr. Fritz Forbes, the Kona Literacy Council's Writer's Hui, and the Burnett family, with the County Council's aloha for their humanitarian efforts.
