RESOLUTION N0. aQ'i4 ~~
WHEREAS, Mr. Robert Santos will be installed as the second
President of the Hawaii Island Portuguese Chamber of Commerce during
its Annual Membership t4eeting on July 7, 1983; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Santos, an insurance executive with more than
30 years of business experience, is well qualified to lead the
Portuguese Chamber into another year of new accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, as the past President of the Hawaii Island Chamber of
Commerce and past Chairman of the Chamber's Governmental Affairs
Committee, Mr. Santos earned high respect at the State Capitol for
his effectiveness in affecting legislation to promote commerce,
industry and agriculture on the Big Island and throughout the State
of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Santos possesses the expertise to bring business,
professions and government to work harmoniously for the economic
well-being of the community as a whole.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED 8Y THE COUNCIL OF TfiE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it congratulates Dlr. Robert Santos for being elected to
serve as the second President of the hiawaii Island Portuguese
Chamber of Commerce, and wishes him and his incoming officers and
directors the best of luck and success in the coming year.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
remit a true copy of this Resolution to Mr. Robert Santos and to the
Hawaii Island Portuguese Chamber of Commerce.
